DECIBEL THE BAND.....

Decibel is a Progressive Metal band from India comprising of Krishnan, Karthik, Ripple, Rajiv and Naman. Decibel was formed in 2003 by Kanishk and Krishnan while pursuing their college. Following a number oflineup changes, Krishnan and Karthik are the only two members from the original lineup. Decibel was started as Thrash Metal act, but with constant experimentation with various genres of Rock/Metal, individual influences and creativity of band members, Decibel has developed its own sound, which is mixture of Thrash Heavy Metal and Progressive/Technical Rock. The band has been mostly dormant since its inception but it has been in news recently for being part of 16 bands at Channel V Launchpad, winning IIT Delhi Blitzkrieg 2007 and its controversial redemption of Naagin, which has been a hit in the country so far. Other successful originals are Ghost in your mirror and Time Machine. Decibel is contemplating a release of album by end of 2007.

RYTHM PADS....

The Roland SPD20 is a compact rhythm powerhouse.
There are 700 percussion sounds onboard, triggered by 8 highly sensitive drum pads and up to 4 external drum triggers.
Drummers who want to add a flexible pad-and-sound-module combination to their existing drum kit will be blown away by the SPD20.
Electronic musicians who want a more organic way to create MIDI sequences will love it.
In fact, the SPD20 is so straightforward to operate, that musicians of all levels (and MIDI know-how) will be jamming within seconds.
If you need professional sounds and triggers but don't want to move into a full-blown digital kit like Roland's V-Drums, the SPD20 is the perfect option.

BLOOD AND IRON

Blood and Iron, based in Chennai(India), was formed in early 2005, a collaboration of members from various bands, with varying degrees of heavy metal influences. The one thing we had in common was a will to play metal like no other band, by contributing different styles and personal influences to the sound, resulting in an original and uncompromised sound. The major influences amongst the band members range from the thunderous, guitar driven sounds of bands like Megadeth and Primal Fear, mixed with the unparalleled melodic structures of bands such as Iron Maiden, Queensryche and Children of Bodom, refined further by varying influences of Dream Theatre, Kreator, Hammerfall and other such metal gods. All these influences and ideas put together form the core sound of Blood and Iron. This overall idea can be derived by listening to this album.

In a time when most bands in Asia concentrate either on creating original music with the sole purpose of selling records by incorporating "popular" means or concentrate on live shows by playing a few originals along with mostly covers of bands they idolize, the exposure required to overcome the mainstream movement by creating and playing music without compromises and on the wings of belief, in Asia, is phenomenal.

Blood and Iron, being a premier metal band from Chennai has played numerous live shows across India, concentrating mainly on originals, as opposed to covering our favorite bands live. We have also won several competitions around the country.

We are dedicated to playing our music straight from the heart, and believe in the talent available in this band. We are also optimistic about our chances of being signed by a well-respected record label, to allow us to continue making our music, which we believe is unique.
